Head of School
Kerry Ann Leraris started as the new Head of School in July 2012. She has both a BA in Psychology/Special Education and an M.Ed. in Reading from Arcadia University. She spent the last 12 years working for Wordsworth Academy in Ft. Washington, where she was the creator and Director of their SPIRIT program, which is a Private Academic School for students with special education needs. Kerry also worked as the Education Director for Wordsworth’s STARS program, which is the Private Academic School program for their residential program. Prior to working at Wordsworth, Kerry was both the School Coordinator and Teacher at Northwestern Human Services in Philadelphia, working in their residential programs.
Kerry is very active in the local community where she the recent President of the Rotary Club of Glenside, she coordinates International vocational exchange programs for Rotary International and is very active with Rotary District 7450. Kerry is also very active volunteer with Special Olympics, where she has coached a local volleyball team for more than 20 years. Kerry currently serves as a Class Fund Agent for Arcadia University, and volunteers weekly at her church. Kerry is married to Dennis Leraris and she and her husband live in northeast Philadelphia.
