Astronomy, forensics, geology, chemistry, biology and botany projects filled the lunch room at the annual Science Fair held at Wyncote Academy on December 5th. Among the displays were a solar oven, assorted spouting volcanoes, a carefully staged crime scene, a colorful lava lamp, artistic periodic tables, and a functioning blast furnace which melted and made castings from aluminum cans. Eleventh grader Ben Donahue-Babiak operated the blast furnace, which was an outstanding project that he is hoping to enter into the regional science fair. Christopher Franklin is pictured with his geology of earth display, and Matthew Jones-Hardy with his wormhole presentation.
