Building Strong Foundations for Academic and Personal Success Wyncote Academy's Lower School program serves students in grades 6 through 8 through a supportive, structured, and individualized learning environment. All academic courses are taught by qualified Special Education teachers who understand the diverse learning needs of students and provide individualized instruction designed to maximize growth and confidence.

Mathematics

Students develop strong mathematical foundations through instruction in number sense, operations, fractions, decimals, ratios, proportions, problem solving, and introductory algebraic concepts. The curriculum prepares students for success in Pre-Algebra and future high school mathematics courses.

English Language Arts

The ELA program emphasizes reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary development, sentence structure, and paragraph writing. Students strengthen literacy skills while learning to communicate clearly and effectively.

Students explore historical events, cultures, geography, and influential people who shaped the world.

Reading Support

Small Reading Groups provide targeted literacy instruction. Wilson Reading is available for qualifying students who require intensive intervention in decoding, fluency, and comprehension.
